Freedom isn’t Free

Filed under: News and Info — Administrator @ 9:34 pm

Well it is Memorial Day.  Today is the day we take a moment to remember all that have worn the uniform of any service.  We also remember with solemn honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.  This is my 19th Memorial Day as a service member and having been through a couple wars and returning from Iraq last fall I can still say there is nothing I would rather be doing.  Although it may sound corny I am extremely proud to serve.  I also hold no one in higher reverence than those men and women that have died for their country.  I hope my actions and service will bring credit to them and their sacrifice.  Please today during your BBQ’s and time off with your families take a moment to remember those men and women that are out there away from their families and homes so that you can openly have any opinion you want and express it without fear.  It is because of the thousands of men and women that have served our country faithfully for the last 232 years we have the freedom we do and I thank each and every one of them for it.

Deidra and Farhang

Filed under: Weddings — Administrator @ 8:43 pm

Yes I have been neglecting my blog lately.  It has been pretty crazy for me.  I think I have been out of town at some kind of conferenceor training session more than I have been here.  I did squeeze in some time for some photography to post though.  I recently had to the chance to shoot with a friend of mine, Chris from Docment Life, and cover the wedding of Deidra and Farhang.  They were married in a small ceremony at Caesars Palace.  It was really a great time and a wonderful couple.  I wish them all the best and thanks for bringing me along Chris.

Jason and Claire’s Engagement Session

Filed under: Engagements, News and Info — Administrator @ 9:56 am

Well it has been a while since I have had a chance to do an engagement session.  I always love doing them because it gives the couple and I a chance to get to know each other better and gives everyone a feel for what the portrait session on the day of the wedding will go like.  Although I am a photojournalist by trade, for weddings I prefer documentary style, I still believe most couples want at least a small amount of fun portrait style photos on the day of their wedding.  I just try to add a fun and sexy edge to them.  Of course how sexy and edgy is up to the couple, but ti is always a lot of fun.  I also try to let the couples be themselves instead of going through and instructing them on positions and how and when to smile.  Claire was perfect at it.  I love a more natural fun look to my images when we can.  Now of course we will still get the shots your grandmother will love, but it is fun to go out and get some shots you will look back laughing and enjoying in the future.

I will be documenting Jason and Claire’s wedding in June.  With as beautiful fun loving couple like this I already know it is going to be a great time.    Please come on back and see how it goes.
