One of the hot things in wedding photography the past couple years has been the Trash the Dress sessions. I am fortunate enough to be very close friends with the creator of these sessions, John Michael Cooper of Altf Photography. I was stoked to see John getting recognized for his creation during a Today show segment this week. The Today show had John and Lynn Michelle on to do a special about the Trash the Dress phenomenon. You can see the segment here, http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/33190828#33190828. I cannot be happier for John and all Altf’s success. Dalisa, his wonderful wife, and John are two of the greatest people you could ever hope to meet. He is not just a photographer he is an artist. His Trash the Dress sessions are not just about getting the dress dirty they are all concepts that he comes up with in his head. He taught me so much about wedding and portrait photography and I can’t thank him enough. As a photojournalist I I was not as adept at creating situations and devleoping portrait concepts. After a few shoots with John I was able to get a small glimpse of his creativity and how he looked at things. It helped me immensely start to develop my own style and flair for portraits and wedding day formals.
That is what John is all about passing on and helping others out. If you are looking for a photographer that will be outside the box and give you a wedding photography experience you can’t get anywhere else look up John and Dalisa with Altf Photography. You will not be sorry you did. Of course of you are getting married in Northern Italy and are looking for a photojournalist photographer with a little portrait flair I am always available.

I recently had the chance to work with Dalisa from Alt F photography. John and Dalisa are leading the way on revamping the wedding photography industry. We had a really great time with Mike and Katie. The wedding was out at the Paiute Golf Course just outside of Las Vegas. They held the ceremony outside and had a great reception setup indoors. Everyone had a great time. I wish Mike and Katie the best of luck on their future together. Here are shots from their special day.

I photographed Sean and Maria’s wedding in Vegas recently. I have not seen two people so emotionally happy in a long time. They both showed how truly happy they were to be getting married to each other. They were a lot of fun and had some wild Elvis glasses with them so we had to incorporate them into the shots. They were a great couple and I wish them all the best.

Well this is another wedding I had the fortune of shooting with Chris from Document Life. It was my first commitment ceremony and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I have to tell you it was awesome. I had such a great time with them and all their guests. These two beautiful ladies really loved each other and it showed. Everyone there seemed to have a great time and I am so glad I got the chance to be a part of it. I wish them both all the best. Here are a few shots from the day.

I know I have been neglecting my blog lately. It has been extremely busy around here. I do have a few posts coming up this week including some big changes for me. First here is the wedding of Jason and Claire. They are a wonderful couple and went all out for their wedding. Jason’s best man introduced them while they were studying in China and they have been together ever since. I know they are going to have a great life and I wish them all the best. Please stop back by this week for some big news and major changes for me.

Yes I have been neglecting my blog lately. It has been pretty crazy for me. I think I have been out of town at some kind of conferenceor training session more than I have been here. I did squeeze in some time for some photography to post though. I recently had to the chance to shoot with a friend of mine, Chris from Docment Life, and cover the wedding of Deidra and Farhang. They were married in a small ceremony at Caesars Palace. It was really a great time and a wonderful couple. I wish them all the best and thanks for bringing me along Chris.

Well now that my blog is functional again let’s get started with a recent wedding. I had a fun little wedding at Nellis AFB. A friend, James Tanksley, came out and helped me with it. Koree and Jason were great. The ceremony was really nice and it was low key. We were able to go out before the ceremony and got some great shots and had a lot of fun doing it. That is my favorie combination. Here are a few for you to enjoy.

Well I had another great Las Vegas wedding. This one comes with a great background story. I photographed the wedding of Tim and Becky at the chapel on Nellis Air Force Base. Their story started many years ago. While still in high school Tim had a crush on Becky, but he apparently never acted on it. Well here all these years later they are finally together. Who says patience isn’t a virtue? They are both wonderful people and I am glad they found each other. Here is some of the photography from their wedding. If you were a guest or friend of the family and have been given their gallery access code you can reach it by clicking on this link, Client Access.

Well I am finally going to take the big plunge and place an ad in a bridal magazine. Well it is not exactly in the magazine. The March 2008 Bridal Guide Magazine will include a CD with it. On the CD will be lots of great information for brides and grooms to help with planning their big day. One of the items will be a featured photographer for each state. I am not sure how the selection process worked or if it was just dumb luck, but I was chosen to be the sole feature photographer for Nevada. So, if you see the magazine in March pick one up to get some great information and be sure to check out my ad on the CD.

Well I had my last wedding of the year this weekend and I could not have asked for a better wedding to end it with. I had a great time with Todd and Leigh-Anne. They are two of the best people you could hope to meet; even if they did chose the Navy instead of the Air Force. It was obvious all day how much they loved each other. There was energy and laughs the entire day. I want to thank them for giving me the chance to capture their memories and enjoy such a great day with them. I wish them both nothing but love and happiness. Here are a few shots from the day.
